Windsor has one of the finest collections of Federal Period houses in all of New England. Many, along with the Congregational Church, were designed by the renowned 18 th century architect, Asher Benjamin. The Old Constitution House, a Vermont State Historic Site, was the site of the drafting of Vermont’s State Constitution in 1777. Hence, Windsor is known as the birthplace of Vermont. Windsor is also home to the American Precision Museum, recounting and preserving the local manufacturing legacy.
