Wade Treadway has had a varied career which reflected on his working for a real estate firm while attending Colorado State University and working for a restoration contractor during summers in Vermont. After moving back to Vermont permanently in 1975, he ran his own building/design/restoration company which focused on mid 18 th century structures. Projects were carried out throughout New England which included many museums and private residences. During the ensuing years he wrote many articles on restoration and the use of period tools. He created and co-produced “ America: Open House” for public television. It was during this time that his interest in real estate, land planning and conservation really kicked in.
In 1996, he opened and established the Woodstock office of one of New England’s top real estate companies. His extensive background and knowledge of building, history, New England and Vermont in particular, served him well as he became the highest producing broker in the State of Vermont setting record sales in many towns. In addition to real estate and restoration consulting, he served on the Woodstock Planning Commission for 12 years, and as acting Chairman for 2 years. He was the President of the Woodstock Historical Society for 2 separate 2 year terms and an accumulative 10 years as trustee. He served as a director of the Woodstock Endowment Foundation, a trustee of the American Clock and Watch Museum. He raised 4 children in Woodstock and still maintains close community ties with children related activities. He is an avid fly fisherman, backpacker, antiquarian and historian.
With such a varied background and extensive knowledge of Vermont real estate, Wade is ideally suited to help Vermont Country Real Estate become one of the leading authorities and brokerages in Vermont.
