Ken’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident throughout his professional career. Beginning in 1987 he set out on a 20 year career in the Insurance business starting with Travelers in Boston, Ma. In 1991 he moved to Vero Beach, Florida with his wife Liz and their 6 week old daughter Sarah to begin work at an agency that would eventually bear his name. Felten & Associates became one of the largest privately held independent agencies in Florida with offices in Vero Beach, Stuart and Altamonte Springs. The urge to return to his native New England was realized when the Felten family, now with 3 children in tow, settled in Woodstock, Vermont in 2005. Felten & Associates was subsequently sold in 2007.
Ken’s proudest accomplishments lie in his commitment to community. He has served in leadership roles in an array of charitable endeavors including President of the United Way, President of the Education Foundation and Founding President of the Boys & Girls Club of Indian River County. Ken’s lifelong interest in buying and selling real estate combined with his advanced expertise in marketing and technology led him to establish Vermont Country Real Estate. His experience in undertaking a state wide search for property in Vermont with the express purpose of relocating his family gives him a very unique perspective similar to that of many who are interested in relocating from out of the area.
